Occupy Flops With May Day Protests

An Occupy Wall Street Proteser

Today was supposed to be the day Occupy Wall Street returned.  May 1st, or May Day, has always been a very important day to Communists, and the movement planned massive protests not just across the US, but also throughout the world.  However, these failed to pan out, and the day was largely uneventful.

Police had to use tear gas to disperse a rowdy Occupy crowd in Oakland, California.  Additionaly, police made arrested three protesters in Seattle, Washington.  But the biggest story was the arrest of 5 men who had plotted to destroy a Cleveland, Ohio bridge linking two wealthy suburbs.  The men had thought they had bought C-4 to blow the bridge up to “celebrate” May Day.  However, they had bought harmless material from undercover informants.
