Unknown Tea Party Candidate Crushes House Majority Leader Eric Cantor

After His Win, Brat Said “God Acted on my Behalf Through the People It’s an Unbelievable Miracle.”

A Republican primary race in Virginia produced a stunning result, as unknown college professor Dave Brat, who has no prior political experience beat House Majority Leader Eric Cantor 55-44, a heavy win in the political world.  Only a few years ago Cantor was a Tea Party favorite, but his vocal support of amnesty cost him, as the Tea Party shifted to support Brat.

The victory is a sign that the Tea Party is be no means past being politically relevant, as so many in the media have tried to suggest recently.  That an unknown professor can defeat a powerful politician seen as the heir to Speaker of the House John Boehner shows the movement is still very much alive.
