Marine Banned From Wearing Uniform at Graduation Killed in IED Blast One Year Later

Brandon Garabant Worked as a Volunteer Firefighter Before Being Deployed

19 year-old Brandon Garabrant was one of three US service members killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.  He made headlines last year when his high school banned him from wearing his uniform to graduation, a request he made because of how excited he was to serve his country.

His town, Peterborough, New Hampshire, have come together to remember him, just as they did a year ago when they demanded the school change its rules, with many businesses putting up signs.  Garabrant was praised for his dedication by his town’s police chief, New Hampshire governor Maggie Hassan and Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
