An early morning landslide has damaged over 100 houses in Utah, with about 20 being evacuated. One of the houses was completely destroyed, but fortunately no one was injured. Heavy rains saturated the soil in North Salt Lake, Utah, causing the landslide to occur at about 6 AM.
Officials were aware of the threat of a landslide, and were removing soil to try and alleviate the pressure on the houses in the area. Because the threat was so well known, an evacuation plan was in placed, which allowed the family of the destroyed house to leave before the landslide caused their home to collapse.
