Alicia Cipicchio tragically died at the popular Burning Man festival after she was struck by a bus. The artist, who ran a gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, was hit by a bus of party-goers at midnight and died at the scene. Burning Man co-founder Marian Goodell said in a statement, “This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and campmates.”
Burning Man, the largest outdoor arts festival in North America, is in its 28th year. It is famous for bizarre costumes and events and attracts over 70,000 to the Nevada desert every year. The tragedy comes a day after festival-goers were forced to wait up to 29 hours to get in the gates due to heavy rains turning the area into a swamp.
