A US Federal air marshal is being quarantined after being stabbed in the back of the arm with a syringe and injected with an unknown substance at Lagos airport. The marshal was immediately screened for Ebola due to the West African outbreak which has killed over 2,000 people. He was then allowed to fly back to the United States and is now undergoing further testing.
The syringe was also sent to the US for testing. The attacker ran off before another man reported the attack and wasn’t located. Because federal air marshals have to travel incognito, the attacker couldn’t have known of the man’s position just by his appearance.
