Sergeant Joey Johnson gave his wife a beautiful surprise at their wedding by standing up out of his wheelchair and dancing with her. He accomplished this thanks to a harness of several of his friends. According to his wife Michelle “there wasn’t a dry eye in he house’ after their dance.
Johnson served in Afghanistan for about a year, and returned home suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder. He bought a motorcycle and use to ride regularly, as it gave him the rush he was seeking. But in a tragic accident in August 2012, he became paralyzed from the chest down. Michelle had only been dating him for four months at the time, but stayed with him as he was her “soul-mate.”
