Millions Brave Snow and Cold for Macy’s Day Parade

Snow Begins to Fall as Spongebob Approaches

The freezing cold weather and snow falling couldn’t deter millions from lining the streets of Manhattan for the 88th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The parade was led by Mo’ne Davis, the first female pitcher to win a match at the Little League World Series, and featured the heaviest ever balloon – a Thomas the Tank Engine balloon that weighed over 1,000 pounds.

Other new balloons included Paddington Bear and Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.  Meanwhile, Hello Kitty celebrated her 40th year as a part of the parade, while other favorites like Spongebob Squarepants and Elf on the Shelf returned.  Performers included Meghan Trainor, KISS, and Idina Mendez.
