Angry demonstrators took to the streets of New York City to protest a grand jury’s decision not to indict the cop that killed Eric Garner earlier this year by holding him in a chokehold. Officer Daniel Pantaleo hold Garner in a chokehold while the victim was desperately crying, “I can’t breath” until Garner’s body went limp. He was declared dead at hospital.
Protesters chanted “I can’t breath”, which has become the rallying cry of the protests. There was a plan to disrupt the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center, but police held back enough protesters that the ceremony wasn’t affected.
