North Korean Hackers Deliver Threat to Movie Theaters

The Interview has Turned Into a Major Controversy for Sony

Sony has been forced to tell movie theaters they can pull The Interview if they decide to after the organization behind the recent hack delivered a warning that an event “similar to 9/11” would take place.  It is believed North Korean hackers were behind the cyber attack on Sony.

Carmike Cinemas has become the first chain to announce it will not show the movie when it’s released.  However, Sony has said it will still release the movie on Christmas day, despite the threat.  Chief Executive Michael Lynton told staff to “remain vigilant” and that Sony was “working closely with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.”
