Rescuers have revealed that Kate Matrosova, JP Morgan’s Vice President who froze to death last week, could’ve been saved if she had only turned her phone on. Matrosova had been attempting to climb New Hampshire’s Mount Madison, 5,400 feet, when a blizzard moved in.
She used her emergency beacon but the freezing temperatures caused the beacon to send a faulty signal and send rescuers in the wrong direction. However, 911 attempted to call her cell phone since it was the number registered to the beacon. But because her phone had been off, they were sent to her voicemail, and she tragically froze to death.
