Beau Biden (1969-2015)
Vice President Joe Biden’s son Beau has died at the age of 46 after losing his battle with brain cancer. Beau served in Iraq and later went on to become the Attorney General of Delaware. The Biden family had kept his cancer battle private, and it has now been revealed that he was diagnosed in late 2013 and was taken to hospital earlier this month as the cancer became worse.
Vice President Biden said, “it is with broken hearts that Hallie, Hunter, Ashley, Jill, and I announce the passing of our husband, brother, and son Beau after he battled brain cancer with the same integrity, strength, and courage he demonstrated every day of his life.” He also called Beau “the finest man any of us have known.” In 1973, Joe Biden’s wife and one-year old daughter were killed in a car crash, which Beau and his older brother Hunter were injured in.
