Malala Yousafzai Attackers Set Free

Malala Yousafzai Has Been Called “The Most Famous Teenager in the World”.

Eight of the ten Taliban gunmen who were sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting Malala Yousafzai have reportedly been set free after a trial held behind closed doors.  A security official has accused Pakistani authorities of lying about the men being behind bars when they are in fact free.  The men, all members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were arrested by the Pakistani military in September.

Yousafzai was only 14 years old when she survived the assassination attempt in 2012.  The Taliban had been angered by her calls for young women to receive educations.  She went on to become the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 at the age of 17.
