Barcelona’s Famous “MSN” Trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar Delivered the Club’s Fourth Champions League in 10 Years
Today was simply too big of a day in the sports world to focus on one story. The day began with Serena Williams surviving a major scare to win the 2015 French Open, her 20th grand slam title. Serena appeared to be cruising, up a set and 4-1 on first-time finalist Lucie Safarova. But Safarova pulled off an incredible comeback to win the set in a tiebreak and go up 2-0 in the final set. But like Serena so often does, she stormed back to win 6-3, 6-7, 6-2.
Later in the day, Barcelona cruised past Juventus 3-1 to win the Champions League and complete their second treble, becoming the first club in history to accomplish this twice. Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez, and Neymar scored the goals to deliver the cup. The day ended with American Pharaoh winning the 137th Belmont Stakes to become the first horse in 37 years to complete the Triple Crown.
