The Men Left a Sarcastic Note Behind Them After Escaping
Police are closing in on David Sweat and Richard Matt, the two murderers who escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility using power tools, in an escape resembling Shawshank Redemption. Police officers, heavily armed, and prison workers have swarmed the small town of Willsboro, New York in their hunt. The two men had expected a getaway driver to pick them up after they escaped, but she failed to show, leaving them to flee on foot.
Sweat and Matt escaped using power tools to make a tunnel. It is believed that prison worker Joyce Mitchell helped the men escape and was supposed to be their driver. She is currently being questioned by police. After escaping, the men left a “Have a nice day” note for the police.
