The Coast Guard has announced that the search for Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, both 14, will be suspended at sunset as any hope of finding the boys continues to evaporate. Captain Mark Fedor expressed his “condolences” to the families and said the whole case was “excruciating and gut-wrenching.”
Using military ships, planes and a Navy destroyer, the Cost Guard searched an area the size of West Virginia. The boys’ boat was found capsized five days ago. The boys’ families have said they still maintain hope that the boys are still alive, and will continue a private search.
