Chinese authorities have ordered the evacuation on resident in a two-mile radius of the blast site in Tianjin. Police have confirmed that the entire area is laced with cyanide, which is lethal when ingested or even inhaled. They haven’t said how much cyanide is estimated to be in the area.
The massive blast in Tianjin three days ago killed 85 people and injured hundreds more. The death toll includes 21 firefighters and is still expected to rise. The blast originated in a warehouse that was storing toxic chemicals, and seven smaller blasts occurred later. The exact cause of the blasts is still unknown, but it is believed to be an industrial accident.
