Four Wal-Mart Heirs Lose Combined $9 Billion in One Day

The Three Children of Wal-Mart Founder Sam Walton

Wal-Mart’s stocks plummeted after the company announced that it predicts its earnings will fall between 6 and 12% in the fiscal 2017 year.  This caused the four heirs of the company to lose a combined $9 billion in one day.  Jim, Alice, and S. Robson, the children of Sam Walton, and sister-in-law Christy are all in the top 15 richest people in America.

They started the year with a combined net worth of $169 billion, but that has dropped to $130 billion.  The company has struggled this year, primarily due to increased spending on employee wages and e-commerce.
