Scott Kelly Breaks US Record for Most Days in Space


ISS Commander Scott Kelly has broken the record for the US astronaut to spend the most days in space.  Today was Kelly’s 383rd day in space, passing previous record holder Mike Fincke by one day.  Kelly will return to Earth on March 2nd next year, after a total of 522 days in space.

NASA is studying Scott Kelly and his twin brother Mark Kelly, also an astronaut, to see how space affects the body compared to being on Earth.  Scott Kelly’s next record will be broken on October 29th, when he spends his 216th consecutive day in space.
