Republican Businessman Wins Kentucky Gubernatorial Race

Matt Bevin Called Trump an “Interesting Fellow” When Asked About the Comparisons.

The most notable result of a low-key election day was Republican millionaire Matt Bevin defeating Democratic challenger, Attorney General Jack Conway by 52.5% to 44% in the Kentucky gubernatorial race.  Bevin has drawn comparisons to Donald Trump for being a businessman who is a political outsider.

He also shared some of Trump’s brashness, having several arguments with local reporters throughout the campaign.  Another similarity was Bevin frequently mentioning he had the money to finance his campaign, so he couldn’t be bought off by anyone.  Bevin has previously heavily lost a primary to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell last year.
