Lawyers for Ahmed Mohamed have demanded $15 million. Mohamed made international headlines in September after he was arrested for bringing his clock invention to school after police thought it was a bomb. His family is now demanding $10 million from the city of Irving, Texas, and a further $5 million from the Irving Independent School District.
According to his lawyers, Mohamed was “publicly mistreated”. He has been taking full advantage of the attention he received after being arrested, as he’s toured across the world, meeting with dignitaries and making speeches. His family is now moving to Doha, Qatar, where he will attend the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
