Comedian Bill Cosby has been charged for the first time, in relation to an incident in 2004, after months of allegations from dozens of women. In the 2004 incident, Andrea Constand says Cosby drugged and then assaulted her at his Philadelphia home. Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault.
Cosby has been released after meeting the $1 million bail. He made no comment after being formally charged, but his lawyer later said he would “mount a vigorous defense against this unjustified charge.” The comedian faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
